Former UD Defensive Corrdinator David Cohen named head coach of Hofstra

Keeler has announced major changes in UDs coaching staff. With the departer of Cohen two defensive back coachs are leaving as well. Delware may have a tough time with Hofstra in the years to come being that they are rivals and Cohen knows the Hens inside and out. For full coverage view the article here.

TP selected to ESPN's all-academic team

Parks is not only great on the field, but in the class room as well. He is a accounting major with a 3.209 grade point average. Parks is a three-time member of the Atlantic 10 Conference Academic Honor Roll and was nominated for the College Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Scholar-Athlete Award and the NACDA Division I-AA Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star team. Parks has a shot at going to the NFL, but is not banking on it. When asked in a personal interview he is not sure exactly what he wants to do at the end of the year, but he has worked hard to keep all options open.

CUFF AND PARKS NAMED ALLSTARS

Senior defensive tackle Tom Parks and sophmore standout Omar cuff were named to the Atlantic 10 all star team. Parks, a 6-4, 275 lb. defensive tackle from Pittsburgh, PA was named to the first team for the second straight year. He had a team high five sacks for 38 yards and 8.5 tackles for losses of 44 yards. He also recovered a fumble, broke up two passes, and set a new UD record with four blocked kicks. He finished his career ranked No. 6 all-time at Delaware in tackles for loss (37.5) and No. 9 in sacks (18.5). Cuff carried the ball 249 times for 1,205 yards and 14 touchdowns and also led the team in receiving with 41 receptions for 414 yards and four touchdowns. He is a candidate for the Walter Payton award and was on of the top five offensive players in the nation

DELAWARE caps of the season with a big win

Delaware stuns rival Nova 38-13. It was the ground attack leading the way to UD once again. However this time it was not only tailback Omar Cuff, but senior QB Sunny Riccio rushed for a career high 90 yards and four thats right four touchdowns Saturday. UD had 228 yards on the ground 125 of the coming from Cuff who ended what was a great sophmore season. This big win is a "springboard for next season", says head coach KC Keeler. Delaware vs. Villonova in final game of the 05' season

Delaware hopes to end the season on a high note putting them over five hundred but it will be tough to do so against rival Villonova as they play at Villonova Stadium in PA this Saturday. Game time is 1pm be there to support the seniors as it is their last game wearing blue and gold. Look at the Matchup here.

UDEL inches past William and Mary 22-21

It was an exciting game on Saturday as Delaware came from behind late in the fourth to go on top. Last year it was the other way around as William and Mary overcame a 21 point deficit to win in double overtime during the 1-AA quarter finals. It was an exciting first half as the score was 14-14 at half time. Wm & Mary jumped out on their first drive of the second half to make the game 21-14. On UD's first drive they were forced to go three and out and their punt was blocked in their own territory. It was UD's defense lead by senior DT Tom Parks that keep them in the game allowing just two yards on three plays ending in a missed 35 yard field goal by W&M. The teams battled back and forth throughout the remander of the game with Delaware's QB throwing a six yard TD pass to Arron Love with 4 minutes left. The game ended on W&M's next drive when senior safety Kyle Campbell intercepted a pass to give UD the win to put them at 500 on the season.

DELAWARE mashed by N0. 8 UMASS 35-7

It was Delaware's turnovers that really hurt them on Saturday. Along with the turnovers was a weak pass defense that allowed UMASS's Quarterback Liam Coen pass for 316 yards throughout the game. It was a rough day as Delaware honored all of their seniors that would be playing in there last game at home. Not only did Delaware loose but they have fallen to 4-5 the first time in head coach KC Keelers career they have been below 500. It was also the most points they have lost by at home since 1986 when they fell 55-14 to Arkansas State. There is not much to read about for Blue Hen fans but more on the game can be found here.

UD hosts UMASS for final home game this season

Game time is 1pm sharp as the Hens look to go over 500. This far the season has been a let down for the Hens. Hopefully they will be able to come away with a win that can help some recruiting for next season. The game will be televised on CN8. UD falls to Maine 25-15

It was a long fought battle in Orono, Maine over the weekend. Delaware came up short as Maine scored with three minutes left in regualtion on a six yard pass play. This put the Black Bears up by 10 and they didn't look back. Maine lead the entire game but Delaware kept it close. UD had a chance to take the lead late in the third but fumbled deep in Maine's territory. It was Maines defense that got them the win on Saturday. Delaware found themselves punting the ball often.

Delaware looks for another win against Maine

Delaware will be traveling to Maine this weekend to take on the 2-5 black Bears. Game time is 12 noon and UD is confident after their performance against defending national champion James Madison. This game will be Televised on CN8 with coverager starting at noon. This would be a huge victory and momentum builder for the rest of Delaware's season. See how well the teams match up.

A record setting day for sophmore running back Omar Cuff gives UD another victory in a must win game. He rushed for 236 years and four touchdowns one coming with 2:45 left in the game to seal the victory. All of this on wet turf at Tubby Ramond stadium and against the number 2 defense in 1 AA football. Hope fully this is a game that can spark some light on the rest of Delaware's season. After the Home coming game two weeks ago Tubby Raymond field was a mess. Rumors spread the UD campus that all games would be away for the rest of the season, but that is NOT the case. UD host James Madison at 12 noon for parents week. Be there Delaware will need some fan suppost if they want to win this one.

Richmond beats Delaware 20-10

After the game being moved to Richmond due to the horrilbe condition of Tubby Raymond field after homecoming, it was all Spiders. The Spiders' QB Stacey Tutt had an impressive game throwing for 212 yards and adding another 73 on the ground. He also both ran and threw for a touchdown. The trickory of an onsides kick in the first quarter helped put the Spiders up 10-0 early and didn't turn back from there as they were leading 17-3 at the half. From that point on the game went back and forth with missed opportunities and ended in the 20-10 victory for the Spiders. This loss puts Delaware at 3-3 after starting the season 3-0. Things are not going to be easier this week as the Blue Hens take on defending national champion James Madison. A preview of this match up can be found here.

No. 22 UD host Richmond this Saturday at 3:15 pm

This is as must win for Delaware as they are 0-2 in there last two games, which were both at home. UD has not been 0-3 in conference play since 1987 and doesn't plan on it happening this week. However, Richmond is coming off of an impressive 38-20 win over Villanova. It will take a hard week of practice and a well constructed game plan for UD to get back in the W colume.

Delaware falls to Hofstra on their homecoming Weekend

It was a defensive struggle as heavy rain fell on Saturday. In the end Hofstra was on top 10-6 dropping Delaware to 0-2 in Atlantic 10 conference play. Once again Delaware was strong at the end of the game but came up short as Sunny Riccio threw 3 incomplete passes on Hofstras' 4 yard line in the last minute of play. This was only the second time that Hofstra has beat the Blue Hens in their last eight meetings. Maybe it was the weather but Delaware must win their next couple if they want to have any shot at making it into the post season.

UD home coming this weekend

The No. 13 Fightin Blue Hens will take on rival Hofstra this Saturday at 1pm. There has been a long Atlantic 10 conference rival between these two teams and they had a great game last year with UD pulling out the 20-19 victory. So alumni come out and get excited this is going to be one of the best games of the year and a must win for UD, coming off of the stunning loss to Towson. Get there early parking will be limited!

No. 5 Delaware falls short to Towson 35-31

UD trailed late in the game until QB Sunny Riccio scored on a three yard TD run to put the Hens up 31-28 late in the fourth quarter. Towson answered in the last minute of the game with two long pass plays totaling 62 yards and a roughing the passer penalty that gave the Tigers the ball on the Delaware 3 yard line. Tigers' Running Back Nick Willaims put the ball in for the go ahead score with only seconds on the clock. This gave Delaware there first loss on the season and they are now 3-1. However that was there first conference game so they are 0-1 in the Atlantic 10.

Big second half for No. 6 Delaware makes them 3-0

Delaware played Holy Cross for its third straight home game. The first half was tight with the score at half being 7-7. However, once again Delaware was able to put together a strong second half behind sophmore runningback Omar Cuff's career high day with 177 rushing yards. He also added three touchdowns on the day two rushing and one in the air. He leads the nation with ten TD's in only three games. Delaware is looking for big things this season and Cuff is just the guy they need to help get them there.

Delaware Dominates West Chester

Delaware showed the nation Saturday that division II West Chester was no match for them as they won 42-21 with playing reserve players for the majority of the second half. It was UD's ground attack lead by running backs Danny Jones and Omar Cuff who combined for 237 yards on the ground. UD gets past Lehigh 34-33

UD came back to beat Lehigh in overtime after being down by two touchdowns. It was UD scoring first in OT to put them on top 34-27. Lehigh was able to put it in the endzone but came up short when Delaware's senior Defensive Tackle Tom Parks deflected the extra point giving UD the win in their season opener.
